Bat Standards

Both MBL and MYAS will be following the USSSA bat standards for the 2022 season and moving forward.

Here are some guidelines based on the league your child will participate in this upcoming season:

Instructional and Rookie Leagues – The only requirement OBA has for these levels will continue to be the following: Big Barrel bats (larger than 2 1/4") are NOT allowed.  Players in these leagues will be able to use bats with either the USSSA 1.15 stamp or the USA stamp.

Minor and Major League – Big barrel bats (2 5/8” or 2 ¾”) are allowed. Players in this league will be able to use bats with either the USSSA 1.15 stamp or the USA stamp.

Travel & Tournament - Both leagues will allow USSSA and USA bats. Age-specific drop requirements available below.

Bat-Buying Tips

Please note that when fitting your player for a bat, the player should be able to hold the baseball bat straight out from his side with arm extended at shoulder height for at least 30 seconds. If he cannot, the bat is too heavy.
