 Player Bio
Jim Benson grew up in Minnetonka playing in Little League, Babe Ruth, High School, and American Legion baseball. After college at Georgia Tech and the University of Minnesota, he played international baseball in Europe. In 1975, Jim signed with the Minnesota Twins and played in the Twin’s minor league system. After returning to Minnesota, he played Town Ball for the next eight years with the Minnetonka Millers and the Hamel Hawks.

Coaching Bio
Jim Benson co-founded Baseball USA nearly 20 years ago at the WillistonCenter in Minnetonka. In the early years, Baseball USA flourished as kids from all over the metro Twin Cities came to the WillistonCenter to improve their baseball skills. In those years, at least three former and future major league pitching coaches helped in the development of drills and a curriculum for coaching that Jim still uses today.   In 2004, Jim founded his BaseballAcademy and has worked ever since to develop out-of-season and in-season baseball training programs in Wayzata, Orono, and Hamel.
