Offseason Clinics

OBA Catchers Clinic

Calling all catchers! Come work with Brad Mazer, former player in the Northwoods League and catching instructor for numerous organizations and clubs.

When: Saturdays, February 3rd and 10th

9:00-10:00AM:  10-11U (4th & 5th graders)
10:15-11:15AM: 12-14U (6th, 7th & 8th graders)

Where: OBA Facility, 2415 W Industrial Blvd, Bay 4 in Long Lake. 

Cost: $70 for the two-session clinic.

Clinic will be capped at 12 players. 

OBA Pitching Clinic with Rich Harden

Rich Harden, former MLB pitcher and Canadian Baseball Hall of Famer, is hosting a four-session pitching clinic for 9-10 year-olds (3rd & 4th graders).

WHEN: Wednesdays (February 21 & 28) & Fridays (February 23 and March 1)

  • 4:30 - 5:30 pm | 9 year-olds (3rd graders)
  • 5:45 - 6:45 pm | 10 year-olds (4th graders)

WHERE: OBA Facility, 2415 W Industrial Blvd, Bay 4 in Long Lake. 

Cost: $140 for the four-session clinic series.

Clinic will be capped at 12 players. 

President's Day Clinic

No School!! Come work on your all-around baseball skills with OBA Coach, Craig Hawkinson.

WHEN: Monday, February 19

  • 12:30-1:30PM  - 11U & 12U (5th & 6th graders)

  • 1:45-2:45PM - 9U & 10U (3rd & 4th graders)

WHERE: OBA Facility, 2415 W Industrial Blvd, Bay 4 in Long Lake. 

Cost: $25

Clinics will be capped at 12 players. 

OBA Winter Clinics - at our new facility in Long Lake!!!

Orono Baseball is thrilled to offer winter clinics to ages 9-14U at our new indoor facility in Long Lake! Our new space is located right behind McDonald's at 2415 W Industrial Blvd, Bay 4 in Long Lake.

Clinics will include hitting and throwing work. Sessions will be run by OBA coaches.

Clinics will run from the weeks of January 15 - March 11. Cost is $220 for the 9 week session. Clinics WILL be held on Jan 15 (MLK) and Feb 19/20 (Presidents/No School).

Sessions will be capped at 12 players. Please only sign up for ONE of the time slots to allow others to get a slot. If space is available, we will allow sign-ups for additional time slots. 

Please DO NOT drop your player off early to ease traffic flow during transition times. There is also very limited indoor space for kids (or parents) waiting.

Pitching Clinics - Sundays

Harry Wingerd, Orono High School Coach and Pitching Specialist, will be hosting pitching clinics on Sunday this winter. Joe McPherson, OHS Varsity Pitching Coach and two OHS Varsity pitchers will also be assisting Harry with the clinics. Clinics will be held at Orono Activities Center.

Clinic work will focus on the mechanics of pitching.

SUNDAYS - January 7 - March 10 (NO clinics on Jan 21 & Feb 18)

  • 2:00 - 3:00 pm | 4th graders 
  • 3:00 - 4:00 pm | 5th graders
  • 4:00 - 5:00 pm | 6th & 7th graders

Each group will be capped at 18 players. Cost is $120.

2024 Winter Training at Hit Dawg Academy

OBA is excited to partner again with Hit Dawg Academy in Plymouth to offer winter training clinics for OBA players. These clinics will work on all baseball fundamentals - hitting, throwing, fielding, etc. 

The programs are similar to past years with registrations available for ages 7-14.  Instructors are all Hit Dawg Coaches, and the player to coach ratio will be 6:1. Clinics will run the weeks of January 8 – March 11. Cost is 10 sessions for $220.  

Registration is through Hit Dawg's website. You can register up to 24 hours before the first clinic session. Details and link below. 

These clinics are hosted & managed by Hit Dawg, but exclusively offered to Orono Baseball players. 

Please note that Hit Dawg reserves the right to cancel classes if a session does not meet the minimum number of participants. 

We recognize these are tight times to get from school to Plymouth, but these are the only time slots available to us. Some parents pick-up a little early and/or do office pickup for the younger ages.

12 – 14 year olds

  • Mondays 3:00pm - 4:00pm and/or
  • Thursdays 3:00pm - 4:00pm

9-11 year olds (3rd-5th grade)

  • Mondays 4:00pm - 5:00pm and/or
  • Thursdays 4:00pm - 5:00pm

7-8 year olds

  • Mondays 5:00pm - 6:00pm

*Clinics WILL be held on MLK Jr Day and Presidents Day.
