Breaking News!

Our final season game was yet another Heartbreaker!  But I can't say enough about how proud I am of these boys going 10-2 for the Season and finishing 1st in their League.  So way to go Spartans!

It was a slow start for the Spartans at the plate tonight.  Defensively our pitching in the 1st was good with only 1 walk in 7 batters we were looking good.  But after a few errors in the field the score was 0-3 Hanover at the bottom of the 1st.

We came back in the 2nd with 4 runs of our own.  Mariani comes through with his standard hit to start the inning and continues to come in for a score.  McCabe, Teele & W. Johnson all come across the plate as well!  With Williams on the Mound we hold them to 1 in the 2nd for a tie game 4-4.

The Spartans failed to score in the 3rd against the 5 Hanover put up.  The score is no 4-9 going into the 4th.

The Spartans looked alive in the 4th with both Mariani & Foster scoring, but after a questionable call by the Ump the inning came to an end with 3 runners stranded on base.  The score is 6-12 at the bottom of the 4th.

The 5th brought the Spartans 3 more runs.  Scharnberg,  Williams & Mariani .  Unfortunately, there were runners left hanging once again on the bases.  Hanover brought in 3 of their own in the 5th so it's 9-15 at the bottom of the 5th.

The Spartans were able to get D. Johnson across the plate for the only score of the inning bringing them to 10.  Unfortunately, Hanover kept it up at the plate and pounded in another 5 to end the game.

Final score 10-20.  All I can say is "OUCH" that hurts!

It's time to put the last game behind us and look forward to our next quest in the Playoffs coming up on 7/14 & 7/15.

GO SPARTANS!
